Marc Marquez has won his sixth MotoGP world title – and his fourth in a row – on Sunday after success in Thailand.
The 26-year-old, that was taken to hospital after an accident in practice sealed his most recent crown four races to spare.
The Spaniard needed to win at least 2 things more than closest rival Andrea Dovizioso – and did so the fourth.
Fabio Quartararo was second, with Maverick Vinales in the third.
Marquez was passed by frenchman Quartararo about the corner of lap – but Marquez was able to retake the lead due to his 53rd MotoGP race win.
I had been planning the weekend to get the race and not consider the championship, said Marquez.
My target was to find the best method to win the race, and that is what I did.
Amazing year. The staff did an wonderful job. Now its time to enjoy and celebrate the name.
The race will take place in Japan on 20.
